UPDATE: Serious crash closes part of Highbury Avenue

London police have reopened part of Highbury Avenue after a crash closed a stretch of the road in the city's south end late Tuesday afternoon.

According to London police, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highbury Avenue South and Wilton Grove Road just after 3:20 p.m. for a crash involving a transport truck and a van.

Police say one person has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection was shut down as a result of the collision. Members of the public were asked to avoid the area until further notice.

Just before 5 p.m., police announced the area was open again.

Police continue to investigate the incident and said additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
