Person threatened with gun inside London home

A loaded handgun was seized by London police officers who were called to investigate threats made against a person inside a home in the east end of the city.

According to police, a man and woman were at the home on Wavell Street, south of Dundas Street around 2:10 a.m. on Saturday when the man pulled out a gun and threatened another individual.

The pair took off after and police were called.

Officers found a man and woman matching the suspect description in a nearby parking lot. They were arrested.

A loaded handgun was seized, police said.

A 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, both of London, have been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, and possession of a firearm other than a restricted or prohibited firearm.

The man also faces additional charges of uttering threats of death and bodily harm and using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence. The two accused are expected to appear in court on Monday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
