Apartment fire sends one to hospital

London police and fire officials are looking into the cause of an apartment fire in the city's east end that sent one person to hospital.

Fire crews were called shortly before 5 a.m. on Saturday about a fully involved apartment fire at 175 Connaught Ave.

One person was taken to hospital for an assessment.

At around 7:30 a.m., the scene was left with London police and fire investigators to determine the cause and circumstances of the blaze.

*Editor's note: A correction was made Saturday morning. London Fire Department initially said the fire was at 34 Connaught Ave. but later corrected that it was at 175 Connaught Ave.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
