Four police officers assaulted outside Woodstock bar

A dozen charges have been laid against four people after a late night brawl outside of a Woodstock bar saw four police officers assaulted.

Police were called about a disturbance outside of the licensed establishment on Dundas Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Officers arrived and conducted crowd control in the area.

Roughly an hour later, police intervened when an altercation broke out as a large number of people were leaving the bar. Additional fights followed, during which four officers were assaulted, police said.

None of the officers were seriously hurt and there were no injuries among those involved in the fights.

A 19-year-old and 46-year-old from Woodstock, a 28-year-old from Chatham, and a 22-year-old from Ingersoll have been charged with a combined 12 offences, including causing a disturbance, assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and mischief under $5,000.

The investigation is on-going, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
