E-bike rider found slumped over handlebars charged with impaired

Impaired driving charges have been laid after a man was found slumped over the handles of an e-bike in southwest London.

A concerned citizen notified London police about a man holding a beer on an e-bike that was stopped on Gordon Avenue south of Commissioners Road around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers arrived on scene to find a man allegedly passed out over the handlebars of the bike.

A 61-year-old man was arrested without incident. He has since been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

The man is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on July 18.
