Man found passed out in stolen vehicle

A London man accused of stealing a vehicle from a north-end home was allegedly found sleeping in it several hours after it went missing.

Members of the London Police Service were contacted Monday at around 4:45 p.m. about a vehicle stolen from the area of Renwick Avenue and Cheapside Street. Officers arrived and took down a description as part of their investigation.

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, police located the vehicle near the area of Dundas and Wavell Streets. When officers approached the vehicle, which was running at the time, they located a man passed out in the driver's seat. He was taken into custody without incident.

No injuries were reported.

A 38-year-old London man has since been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, impaired operation, and breach of probation.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
