Security guard threatened with knife at east London business

An 18-year-old London man has been charged after a security guard was threatened with a knife at an east-end business.

According to London police, a man walked into the unnamed business in the area of Clarke Road and Dundas Street East around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday. When he was approached by a security officer, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and made threats. He then took off from the store on foot.

A description of the man was given to police, who arrested a suspect a short distance away.

A knife was seized by officers and no injuries were reported, police said.

A London man has since been charged with possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
