Dangerous driver found in possession of stolen motorcycle

London police have laid several charges in relation to a dangerous driving investigation on Wednesday.

Around 10:30 a.m., officers spotted a motorcyclist driving in a parking lot on Dundas Street east of the Clarke Road intersection. The driver then propelled the motorbike over a curb at a high rate of speed, according to police, while officers were visibly present.

When police approached the vehicle, the driver reportedly stopped the motorcycle abruptly causing it to topple over.

A 42-year-old London man was arrested for dangerous operation of a stolen vehicle.

Through investigation, police discovered that the suspect was prohibited from driving at the time of the incident. The motorcycle he was driving had also been reported stolen.

As a result of the incident, the accused is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving, operation while prohibited and failing to comply.

The suspect has been released from custody and will appear in London court on July 24.
