Three charged after Delhi drug bust

Provincial police seized cocaine, fentanyl, and a rifle during a raid at a Delhi home early Wednesday.

Officers with the Haldimand and Norfolk street crime unit, emergency response team, and the tactics and rescue unit searched a home on Bell street just before 4 a.m. Inside they found an undisclosed quantity of the two illicit drugs along with a rifle, a replica handgun, ammunition, other prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia.

Two men and a woman, all from Norfolk County, were arrested.

A 31-year-old man, a 33-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman have since been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The two men are additionally charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The 31-year-old also faces charges for unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with. He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing, police said.

The other two accused have been released and are expected to appear in court in relation to the charges on July 25.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
