Thieves snatch guns in Central Elgin break-in

Provincial police say multiple guns were stolen during a break-in at a home in Central Elgin.

Elgin OPP were called to investigate the break and enter at the home on Ron McNeil Line around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Investigators determined that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. the same day thieves damaged a side door to the home, went inside and stole a safe containing firearms.

Jewellery and electronics were also taken in the break-in. A value estimate of the stolen items was not released.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
