Man wanted on warrant found downtown carrying weapons, drugs

London police arrested a man previously wanted by police while responding to a weapons call downtown over the weekend. 

At around 5 p.m. Saturday, officers attended the area of Dundas and Richmond streets for a weapons investigation. When they arrived, they located a suspect who was previously wanted by police. 

The suspect was arrested on scene and searched by officers. Police said a knife, a quantity of drugs, and a prohibited weapon was seized during the search. 

No injuries were reported. 

A 28-year-old London man has since been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a schedule one substance. 

The accused remains in police custody and is scheduled to make another court appearance on July 5.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
