Two St. Thomas police officers attacked after arrest

Two police officers suffered minor injuries following an arrest in St. Thomas.

Officers responded to the report of a break and enter in progress at a home on Wellington Street late Thursday night.

According to police, the resident reported a stranger breaking into their shed.

The suspect left the area, but was identified as a 36-year-old man.

He was arrested and transported to St. Thomas police headquarters, where police allege he assaulted two officers.

The man is facing a number of charges, including two counts of assault of a peace officer.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
