High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

Motorists will face more obstacles in the city this week.Commissioners Road West between Westmount Crescent and Wonderland Road South will be closed from Tuesday July 4 to Friday July 7.The closure is due to private utility work in the area.A signed detour will be in place for eastbound and westbound traffic using Springbank Drive, Wonderland Road, and Commissioners Road West for the duration of the work. Temporary sidewalk closures and restrictions will also be in effect in the area.The city has advised that some London Transit Commission (LTC) bus routes will be affected during the closure. Passengers are encouraged to visit the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.londontransit.ca/detours-stop-closures/">LTC website</a> for information.Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.
