UPDATE: Man dies in Friday night crash along Veterans Memorial Pkwy

London police continue to investigate a fatal crash that took place in the city's east end last Friday.

According to police officials, emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle collision on Veterans Memorial Parkway, north of Page Street, at around 7:30 p.m. on June 30.

The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the man died of his injuries while in hospital.

Police restricted southbound traffic on Veterans Memorial between Oxford Street East and Page Street for several hours so officers could investigate before it was cleared and reopened to traffic.

Police continue to probe the crash, and the investigation has been turned over to members of the Traffic Management Unit.

Anyone who with information relating to the crash is asked to contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
