Police seek suspect after man attacked in southwest London

London police are searching for a suspect after a man was seriously injured in an attempted robbery in the southwest end.

The man was walking along Base Line Road West, just west of Wharncliffe Road around 7 p.m. on Wednesday when he was approached by a male acquaintance who demanded money.

The acquaintance then assaulted the man before taking off from the area.

The man suffered a serious, but non-life-threatening injury, police said.

A witness told officers who responded to the incident that the suspect may have been in possession of a gun. Police searched the area, however, the suspect, who has been identified, was not found.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
