High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

More than $13,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamine were seized by Woodstock police during a series of raids in the city.Officers with the drugs and intelligence unit searched two homes and a vehicle in the city over the weekend. In addition to the illicit drugs, police also found an undisclosed amount of cash.A 35-year-old Woodstock resident and a 40-year-old from Tillsonburg were arrested.The 35-year-old is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The 40-year-old is charged with operation while prohibited and failure to comply with an undertaking.Police are asking anyone with information in relation to this investigation to call them at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
