Teen charged after replica handgun seized

London Police say a 15-year-old boy is facing charges after allegedly pointing a replica handgun at somebody in the north end of the city.

Someone called police to say they had seen a young man pointing a handgun at somebody else in a parking lot at Hyde Park Road and Fanshawe Park Road on Friday around 8 p.m.

Police received a description during the call, and when they tried to approach the suspect he ran off.

A short time later, he was arrested and a black replica handgun was found nearby.

Police say nobody was hurt.

The teen is charged with possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with release order.

His name can not be released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
