Woman suffers minor injuries during alleged sexual assault in London park

A woman was left shaken after a man allegedly sexually assaulted her in a northwest London park Monday afternoon.

London police were called at around 3:15 p.m. about the incident, which occurred while the female victim and two other individuals were walking in Gainsborough Meadows, a park off Brandy Lane Road, east of Aldersbrook Road.

Officers were told the unknown man approached her and reportedly grabbed her from behind, when the woman fell to the ground. The victim freed herself before the accused exposed himself.

Police say a witness observed the incident and called police, and the strange man took off. Officers were provided with a description of the accused and found him nearby. The man ran away again, and more officers were called to assist.

The suspect was eventually arrested after a foot chase. One of the responding officers suffered a minor injury during the pursuit but did not require medical attention. The victim also sustained minor physical injuries from the alleged assault.

A 37-year-old London man, identified as Kevin Sadeki Jackson, is charged with sexual assault, resisting arrest, disarming a police officer, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Members of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section continue to investigate.
