Utility work to slow Western Road traffic for two weeks

Drivers going to or passing by Western University on Western Road will have to pack their patiences for the next two weeks.

Starting Thursday, Western Road between Windermere and Sarnia roads will have temporary lane restrictions in place for private utility work in the area.

The busy road will be down to a single lane in each direction. Signage to help drivers navigate the work are in place, according to city officials.

Sidewalk closures and restrictions will also be required. Pedestrians are encouraged to use nearby streets to reach their destination while the work is completed.

Some London Transit routes and stops may be impacted by the construction. Riders are advised to check the LTC website for up-to-date service information.

The work is expected to be completed by July 28.
