High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A two-vehicle crash in southwest London has left one person with serious injuries.Emergency crews were called after a motorcycle and sedan collided in the area of Wharncliffe Road South and Ferndale Avenue around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, London police said.Wharncliffe Road South at Ferndale Avenue was closed while police probed the cause of the crash. Officers used a drone in the area to assist with the investigation, police added.The road was reopened around 9:30 a.m.
