One person sent to hospital after early morning stabbing

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing in Woodstock.

Police responded to the area of Dundas Street and Wilson Street on Thursday, just before 4:30 a.m., for a reported stabbing.

A 32-year-old was transported to hospital from the scene and remains there with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the suspect fled the scene but has since been located and arrested. He faces eight charges, including aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The weapon, a hunting style knife, has not been found. Woodstock police urge anyone who comes across this type of knife to leave it where it is and contact them immediately.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
