UPDATE: Motorcyclist dies after crash in southeast London

London police say a motorcyclist involved in a serious crash in the city’s southeast end early Monday evening has sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Just after 8 p.m., emergency crews responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle on Commissioners Road East at Sheffield Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they located a young man with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital and on Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed the man had died.

The motorcyclist has only been identified as a 22-year-old man. Police said they will not be releasing his name.

No other details about the occupant(s) of the other vehicle have been provided.

Members of the London Police Service Traffic Management Unit have taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Commissioners Road East was closed between Jackson Road, just east of Highbury Avenue, and Sheffield Boulevard for several hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.

The Forensic Identification Section deployed a drone over the area Monday evening to assist with the probe.

Anyone who may have witnesses the collision is asked to contact members of the London Police Service at 519-661-5670.
