London man arrested in downtown stabbing

London police have arrested a man accused of stabbing someone at a downtown apartment building early Tuesday morning.

According to investigators, police were called at around 2:30 a.m. for a disturbance at a residence on Dundas Street near Adelaide Street North.

Through an investigation, police learned the two men were inside an apartment when an argument ensued. The occupant of the dwelling reportedly pushed the other man into the hallway and struck him with a cane.

Police say the victim and the accused are known to each other.

A 58-year-old London man has since been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. He remains in custody and was scheduled to make a court appearance sometime Tuesday.
