750 pigs killed in $5M barn fire in Middlesex County

Damage is estimated at $5 million after two barns were destroyed by fire northwest of Strathroy over the long weekend.

Middlesex OPP and local firefighters were called to the blaze on Langan Road in Adelaide Metcalfe around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. When emergency crews arrived two barns were fully engulfed by flames.

The road was blocked off while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.

Approximately 750 pigs were killed, police said.

The blaze has been deemed non-suspicious.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
