Sarnia man clocked at over 200 km/h on Hwy. 402

A Sarnia man with a need for speed was clocked at nearly twice the speed limit on Highway 402 Monday afternoon.

Middlesex OPP said the 55-year-old man was travelling in the westbound lanes in Middlesex Centre, where the posted limit is 110 km/h, when he was pulled over at around 4:10 p.m.

The suspect was charged with stunt driving, failing to stop on right for an emergency vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Police said the accused has been released from police custody and in scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
