'I started to cry': London mother wins $1M lotto prize

A London mother of two has learned sometimes dreams do come true.

Samantha Macrae won the $1 million LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball draw on August 30.

The 32-year-old office manager bought the winning ticket on OLG.ca. She awoke the morning after the draw to an email from lottery officials informing her of her big win.

"I noticed a different email from OLG, and when I clicked on it, it said I was a winner,” Macrae said while claiming her prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I was so excited I started to cry and then scream with pure joy. I couldn’t believe all the zeroes I was seeing.”

She shared the news with her boyfriend and her boss, noting both were "filled with joy" for her.

Macrae plans to use the windfall to buy a house, pay some bills, and save for her childrens' education.

"It’s an amazing feeling – I always see other people winning and now my dream came true," said Macrae.
