20-year-old seriously injured in Woodstock armed robbery

A 18-year-old Woodstock man is facing charges in an armed robbery that sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.

Woodstock police were called about the robbery in progress in the area of Kipling Crescent and Springbank Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Officers arrived on scene to find one person suffering serious, non-life threatening injuries. That individual was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police determined two people got into a physical fight during the robbery that escalated when the robber pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

A suspect was arrested and property that had been reported stolen from a vehicle was seized.

An 18-year-old man from Woodstock has been charged with seven offences including robbery with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, and mischief.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
