Pizza delivery driver assaulted, held against will

Charges have been laid after a pizza delivery driver was robbed, assaulted, and held against his will in a London apartment building.

The delivery driver had gone to the building on Grey Street south of downtown to deliver a pizza around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday. While there, he ended up getting into an argument with two men who had failed to fully pay for the pizza. One of the men went back inside of a unit during the dispute before returning to the hallway with a knife.

The pizza was then physically taken from the delivery driver. The two men also would not allow the driver to leave the apartment building, London police said.

Fearing for his safety, the delivery driver called 911. But before police arrived he was assaulted with a weapon.

No physical injuries were reported.

Officers arrived at the building and arrested two men.

A 33-year-old and a 28-year-old have both been charged with robbery, forcible confinement, and assault with a weapon. The pair are scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on November 20.
