In a Dream Lottery first, one of the grand prizes in the semi-annual sweepstakes is being geared toward those looking to downsize.
The fall edition of the lottery in support of London’s hospitals was launched on Thursday.
While the grand prize options include the usual luxury home or $1 million cash, a new tiny home prize package has been added. The option includes two tiny homes and $750,000 cash. If selected, the winner would be able to customize the homes with the help of experts from Habitat28.
"Quality living means different things to different people and for some, a tiny home is the way to go," said Michelle Campbell, the president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation. "You get to choose how you live whether it’s in a large luxury home or in a tiny home, with cash to spare. You win, you choose."
For people dreaming of more spacious accommodations, there is the $1.5 million dream home located at 1651 Upper West Ave. in London's Warbler Woods neighbourhood. The open concept 3,256 square foot home comes fully furnished with four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a butler's pantry. The Dream Home will be open for public viewing from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It will also be open over the same hours on Thanksgiving Monday.
In addition to the grand prizes, the 50/50 draw is back, offering a guaranteed $250,000 payout. The spring jackpot was more than $1.2 million with the winner receiving $601,770. A ticket for the lottery must be purchased in order to get in on the 50/50 draw.

Since its creation in 1996, the Dream Lottery has raised more than $57 million for the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. That money has been used to enhance patient care, purchase specialized equipment, and fund research at the three medical facilities.
