CAF conducting convoy training in Sarnia, London

Don't be alarmed if you see some military activity in Sarnia and London on Thursday evening.

Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 1st Hussars will be undergoing convoy training, starting at 6 p.m.

In a news release, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) said activities will include the safe conduct of vehicle convoys, and participating soldiers and vehicles will not be carrying weapons or ammunition.

It said there's no pre-determined route at this time.

The CAF said this important training is being conducted to maintain and develop the ability of Canadian Army Reserve soldiers to be successful while on operations.

Conducting convoy and driver training ensures that all the supplies, personnel, and services necessary for Canadian Armed Forces operations are available when and where they are required.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area, and no areas will be closed to the public due to this training.

We're being asked to take extra caution if approaching military vehicles.
