Hot coffee thrown on neighbour during dispute

A dispute between neighbours in St. Thomas ended with one charged with assault with a weapon.

St. Thomas police were called about a disturbance at a southside property just before 1 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived, they found a dispute between a pair of neighbours had escalated with one throwing coffee on the other.

A 34-year-old resident was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. The individual was released from custody with a future court date.

Then around 7 p.m. the same day, police were called back to the same address to investigate a second dispute between the neighbours. This time the altercation was just verbal, police said.

The 34-year-old was arrested once again and charged with failure to comply.
