Damage is pegged at $200,000 after a house fire near downtown London.

Fire crews were called to the single-storey home on Maitland Street at Hill Street around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. When firefighters arrived on scene there was thick smoke coming from the front of the home.

The blaze was extinguished relatively quickly.
