West London home broken into as family slept

A 32-year-old man is facing charges after an overnight break-in at a home in west London.

According to London police, a family was sleeping inside the home on Applegreen Grove when a man broke in around 2:15 a.m. on Thursday. The man allegedly took several items including keys, clothing, tools, and a bicycle.

A resident of the home awoke to see the man leaving and called police.

Officers located a suspect on Commissioners Road West near Andover Drive shortly after. The stolen bicycle was seized.

The man attempted to run away when police told him he was under arrest. Additional officers were called and the man was taken into custody.

"A search yielded additional stolen property belonging to the homeowners and a quantity of suspected Fentanyl," police said.

A London man has since been charged with break and enter and theft, obstructing a peace officer, possession of break-in instruments, and unlawfully possessing drugs.
