Woman seriously hurt, three charged in St. Thomas assault

One person has been arrested and two others are being sought in an assault that left a woman seriously hurt in St. Thomas.

St. Thomas police were called about a woman being assaulted by several people in the city shortly after midnight on Sunday. When officers arrived they found a woman suffering from serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Through further investigation, police were able to identify three suspects in the attack.

One of the suspects, a 38-year-old man, was arrested downtown around 9 a.m. He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with probation order. He remains in police custody.

A 43-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man have been charged by way of warrant with assault causing bodily harm. The pair have not yet been taken into custody.

A description of the wanted man and woman was not provided.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
