Threat at Saunders Secondary 'not credible': police

The threat of a shooting at a southwest London high school caused some panic Wednesday morning.

London police were called to investigate the threat at Saunders Secondary School after 8 a.m. Investigators determined there is no threat to the safety of students and staff at the Viscount Road school.

The source of the threat was located, but no arrests have been made, police said.

Parents and caregivers of students were notified about the situation in an email from the school's principal.

"Student and staff safety is our number one priority, and we work in close partnership with our local police departments," said Saunders Principal Bruce Neilson. "All anonymous tips are taken very seriously, and we have extensive protocols in place to handle all responses."

The school remained open Wednesday with just two cruisers on site by 9 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
