Crash sends three to hospital

Three people were taken to hospital after two vehicles and a tractor collided near St. Thomas.

Emergency crews were called to Ferguson Line west of Highbury Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

"Investigators determined a rear-end collision occurred when an eastbound passenger vehicle collided with an eastbound tractor towing an agricultural implement," Elgin OPP said in a news release. "As a result of the initial collision, the tractor and agricultural implement entered the oncoming lane colliding with a westbound passenger vehicle."

Each vehicle contained only a driver, and all three were taken to hospital with injuries police described as "non-life threatening."

Police closed Ferguson Line between Highbury Avenue and Dalewood Road for a few hours, but it has since re-opened.
