Human remains found in northeast London

London police are probing the discovery of human remains in northeast London.

A person in the area of Highbury Avenue North and Blackwell Boulevard called police after making the grim find around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police have not said what state the remains were in or how long they may have been in that location.

The investigation has been turned over to the major crimes unit.

"More information will be provided as it becomes available," police said.
