Police searching for assault suspect

St. Thomas police are seeking 34-year-old Justin Lapain.

Police said that officers responded to a downtown homeless shelter early Saturday morning for reports of an assault.

Through investigation, police determined that a 42-year-old man had been assaulted with a bat. The man sustained minor injuries which were treated by paramedics on scene.

Lapain has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of failing to comply.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
