Weapons, drugs seized; three people charged

A traffic violation led to the seizure of over $110,000 worth of drugs.

A St. Thomas police officer pulled over a vehicle in the area of Talbot Street and Sunset Drive just after 11 p.m. on Friday.

Police said there were three occupants in the vehicle.

The 47-year-old driver was found to have an outstanding warrant from London police, he was also suspended from driving.

When he was searched for his arrest, police found suspected crystal meth as well as a spring-loaded knife.

He faces 17 charges including six counts of trafficking a controlled substance, several weapons charges, and multiple traffic violations.

A 28-year-old female passenger was also found to have outstanding warrants. A search of her yielded more drugs and a 32-caliber semi-automatic handgun. She faces 10 weapon and drug charges.

The second passenger, a 32-year-old man, also had outstanding warrants from London police. He faces five drug trafficking charges and seven weapon charges.

Police said that the drugs seized include crack cocaine, cocaine, hydromorphone, Dilaudid, and fentanyl.

All three individuals were held for court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
