Health agency looking for dog involved in biting incident

Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) wants to find a dog involved in a biting incident to assess it for rabies.

The health agency was told that the incident took place around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday on Burwell Road, near Password Park.

According to SWPH, an individual was running in the area when they passed by a woman walking a large black dog on a leash. The woman, described as between the ages of 30 and 40, was allegedly unable to stop the dog from biting the runner.

The dog is possibly a Staffordshire Terrier.

The health agency is looking for information about the dog, in order to assess for risk of exposure to the rabies virus.
