Crash at 401 OnRoute claims one life

Provincial police in Oxford County say one person is dead after a collision at the OnRoute service centre on eastbound Hwy. 401.

The collision happened around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, November 30. According to police, a Sprinter van collided with a parked tractor trailer. The driver of the van, a 59-year-old from Maple, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ramp to the On Route was closed for several hours however has since reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
