Two women charged after drugs seized from 'suspicious' vehicle

A report about a suspicious vehicle in south London led to the seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of two women.

London police were called about the vehicle that was parked in the area of Wellington Road and Bradley Avenue around 1:20 p.m. on Monday. Officers located the vehicle and arrested two women who were inside without incident. One of the women had been wanted on outstanding warrants, police said.

A search of the vehicle turned up approximately $6,270 worth of drugs.

Police did not specify what type of drugs were seized.

A 56-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman, both from London, are charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The older woman also faces an additional charge of impaired driving.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to appear in London court on Tuesday, while the 56-year-old will be back in court in relation to the charges on January 12.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
