Two arrested following traffic stop in Woodstock

Woodstock police say two men have been charged after a traffic stop yielded weapons and suspected cocaine.

Officers conducted the traffic stop at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of Adelaide Street and Wellington Street. Police determined that the occupants were carrying prohibited weapons.

A firearm, brass knuckles, two tasers, and nunchucks were seized.

Both men, a 27-year-old from London and a 27-year-old from Cambridge, were charged with four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, plus one count each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, and cocaine possession.

The London man is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, careless use of a firearm, and having a dangerous weapon.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
