Missing Tillsonburg woman found dead

A 72-year-old woman from Tillsonburg who has been missing for over one month has been found dead.

In a statement on Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said 72-year-old Lola Watson who was last seen leaving her home on November 8, was found near Plank Line and Airport Road in South-West Oxford Township.

Police received a report of Watson's body near the area on Friday. The discovery comes after weeks of searching following her disappearance.

"The OPP would like to thank the community, members of the media, along with the public who provided assistance during this investigation," said Sgt. Sanchuk in a statement.

Police have not released a cause of death, but did say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
