St. Thomas police have arrested a youth for shoplifting and attacking a person over the weekend.
Police said that a young person was seen shoplifting from a Talbot Street business Saturday afternoon. By the time officers arrived on the scene, the suspect had fled.
"A short period of time later the same young person assaulted another youth at nearby restaurant," police said in a release.
An arrest was made shortly after the attack, for both incidents.
The victim of the assault sustained minor injuries.
The young person was released with conditions and a future court date.
