Man arrested after standoff in east London

One person has been arrested following a standoff in east London that lasted several hours.

Police in tactical gear surrounded a townhouse in the area of Bonaventure and Admiral drives after a man barricaded himself inside around 3 p.m. on Monday.

Neighbouring homes were evacuated as a precaution.

The London Fire Department was called to the scene to shut gas to the home off.

The standoff lasted over four hours before a man was taken into custody.

No other details have been released, including whether charges have been laid.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
