London man charged in knife-point robbery

A 20-year-old man is facing charges after an armed robbery steps away from London police headquarters.

A witness called 911 to report seeing a man with a knife assault, threaten, and then rob another man in the area of Dundas Street and Adelaide Street North around 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The attacker reportedly ran from the scene right after.

Using a provided description, police arrested a suspect a short distance away. The man is alleged to have made threats toward police and assaulted one of the officers while being taken into custody.

A knife was seized and property belonging to the victim was recovered.

No injuries were reported, police said.

A London man has been charged with armed robbery and assaulting a peace officer. He was scheduled to appear in London court on Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
