Trio sought in Belmont alcohol theft

Provincial police in Elgin County are hoping the public can help them identify three suspects in a pre-Christmas alcohol theft.

The theft happened at the LCBO on Caesar Road in Belmont just before 5:30 p.m. on December 22. According to Elgin OPP, three people walked into the business, removed a quantity of alcohol from the shelves and left without paying.

The approximate value of the stolen booze is $500, police said.

All three suspects are described as White men in their 20s, between 5'7" to 5'8", with a medium build.

On Monday, police released three photos of the suspects who were captured by surveillance cameras in the store. They are asking anyone who recognizes the individuals in the photos to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
