Man charged in pharmacy robbery

London police say a man is facing charges after a pharmacy in the north end was robbed.

According to police, around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a mask went into a pharmacy on Adelaide Street North near Huron Street and gave a note to an employee, which said he had a firearm and demanded narcotics.

"The suspect removed money from a cash register inside the store. An employee called 9-1-1 and a description of the suspect was provided," police said in a media release issued Wednesday. "Upon police arrival, the suspect male was observed exiting the pharmacy. He was arrested without incident. A search yielded stolen cash. A firearm was not located."

No injuries were reported.

A 46-year-old London man is charged with robbery with violence or threats, and wearing a disguise with intent.
