Man stabbed in southwest London apartment

One man is in hospital and another is charged after a stabbing inside a southwest London apartment building.

A call to 911 around 10 p.m. on Monday alerted police to the incident at the building on Baseline Road West, just west of Wharncliffe Road. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a serious, non life-threatening stab wound. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators determined the man had been stabbed during an altercation with another man. A description of that person was provided and officers arrested a suspect inside another unit in the same building.

Jason Martin Chrisjohn, 52, of London has been charged with aggravated assault. Chrisjohn remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on Wednesday.

Members of the police major crime section continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
